The Sparrows Point High School Athletic Booster Club is composed of parents, athletes, community members and coaches dedicated to promoting and supporting athletic programs at Sparrows Point High School. The SPHS Athletic Booster Club “Point Pride” 5k run & 1k walk will be a perfect event to help promote that feeling of pride and satisfaction in helping us provide our student-athletes the opportunity to compete at the highest levels within Baltimore County. The registration proceeds will benefit male/female athletic scholarships, state/regional team awards, the Point Pride award for each season and various other athletic items needed throughout the year. Different school organizations will be given the opportunity to create teams where the individual race participant is able to collect pledge donations to benefit that organization.

Entry Fees:
General Public: $25 ($30 day of the race)
Students: $15 ($20 day of the race)
1 Mile Walk: $20 ($25 day of the race)
Virtual Runners: $20 (Don’t feel like running? Sign up as a virtual runner and you’ll receive a race shirt)
Registration:
Online registration closes Thursday, May 14th at 11:59 PM, but you can still register at Saturday’s packet pickup or on race day. Shirts are NOT guaranteed to registrants after May 10.
Course Information:
The 5K course consists of two loops of the Fort Howard property, passing by historic military buildings and beautiful scenery. 1 mile walkers will be an abbreviated lap of the property..
For safety reasons, roller skates, and other wheeled devices (with the exception of wheelchairs and jogging strollers) are not allowed on the course. Jogging strollers are permitted, but we ask that you start in the back of the pack so that your stroller does not create a tripping hazard. Pets are also welcome, but must be kept on a short, non-retractable leash. Those with pets should also line up at the back for the start so that leashes do not create safety hazards.

Top overall male and female, as well top 3 males and females in the following age groups:
13 and under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 & 60+
Amenities:
Commemorative race shirts are guaranteed to all 5k and walk participants registered by May 10th (availability and sizes can not be guaranteed for those registering after the 10th). Water will be available on the 5k course, and course marshals will direct racers at major turns. Restrooms are available onsite, and there is plenty of parking near the start/finish area.
Packet Pick Up:
Packets will be available on race day beginning at 7:30 AM at the start/finish area. Additional pickup opportunities may be announced, so check back for the latest information!
