5k Race & 1 Mile Walk

Celebrate the holidays with family and friends at the 7th Annual Santa’s Sleigh 5K and 1 mile walk! Holiday attire is encouraged – there are even awards for the best dressed. Stick around after for hot chocolate and awards…it may end being the least stressful day of the holiday season!

Entry Fees:
5k: $25 until December 5, $30 until December 19, $35 at packet pickup and on race day
1 Mile Walk: $20 until December 19, $25 at packet pickup and on race day
Kids 10 & under are welcome to participate in the 5K race or 1 mile walk at no charge, but will not receive a race shirt. Please use the “Kids 10 & Under 5k/Walk – No Shirt” category on Active.com to register. If you would like your child to receive a shirt, please register them in the regular 5k or 1 mile walk categories.
Registration:
Online registration closes Friday, December 19th at noon, but you can still register at Saturday’s packet pickup or on race day. Shirts are NOT guaranteed to registrants after 12/16.
Course Information:
5K
The 5K course begins on the road between WaWa and Harford Community College, and travels through the HCC campus before returning to the parking lot adjacent to Wawa for the finish.
1 Mile Walk
1 Mile walkers will follow the runners for the first 1/2 mile before making a u-turn and heading back for the finish.
The courses are entirely on paved and crushed gravel surfaces. For safety reasons, pets, roller skates, and other wheeled devices (with the exception of wheelchairs) are not allowed on the course. Jogging strollers are permitted, but we ask that you start in the back of the pack so that your stroller does not create a tripping hazard.

Top 3 overall male and female as well as in each age group as follows:
10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, & 60+
First male and female runners to finish the course in a complete Santa costume (red jacket, red pants, beard, and hat) – these costumes do not need to be shopping mall quality 🙂
Amenities:
Long sleeve Gildan Performance Tech t-shirts are guaranteed to all 5k and walk participants registered by December 16th (availability and sizes can not be guaranteed for those registering after the 16th). Jingle bells will also be provided for each participant. Water will be available on the 5k course, and course marshals will direct racers at all turns. Hot chocolate and other refreshments and random prize giveaways from event sponsors will be available post race. Restrooms are available inside the Arena Club, and plenty of parking is available at the club as well.
Packet Pick Up:
Packets will be available for pick up on Saturday, December 20th at the Arena Club in Bel Air, MD from 4-6 PM in the downstairs multi-purpose room. Packets will also be available on race day beginning at 7:30 AM on the turf field.
