The Shoebox Shuffle is a fun-filled family event that benefits the Taylor Foundation and its Shoebox Packing Party. The Shuffle is a chip-timed 5k race and 1-mile family walk held in beautiful northern Baltimore County. All fees and expenses related to this event are covered by a local business which translates into all donations and entry fees going towards filling the Shoebox Christmas gifts. Every $25 entry fee will provide the items needed to fill 10 Shoebox Christmas gifts for less fortunate kids around the world.

Tackling your first 5k? New to the sport and want to get the most out of your race? Join the “Running 101” program at Pulse Fitness for $10 and receive specialized training from August 5th to September 9th to help you prepare for the Shoebox Shuffle. You can purchase this program during registration, and additional information will be sent to registrants.

The event will be held rain or shine, and entry fees are non-refundable.

Course Information:

The 5k course will begin at Pulse Health & Fitness Club and travel south on York Road to Loveton Circle before returning to Pulse. Strollers are welcome, but must begin at the back of the pack for the safety of all participants. Skateboards, roller skates, and other wheeled devices are not allowed on the course for the 5k.

Awards:

Top 3 overall finishers (male and female) will receive cash awards donated by Pulse Fitness:

1st Place – $300
2nd Place – $150
3rd Place – $50

The male and female winners of each of the following age groups will receive awards:

8 & Under, 9-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & over.

The top fundraiser, top fundraising team, and best shoebox costume will all receive awards as well.

Additional School Team Awards:

The top three finishers (boy & girl) within a school team (ages 13-19) will receive cash awards to be donated to their school:

1st Place – $300
2nd Place – $150
3rd Place – $50

Amenities:

The first 250 registered participants will receive a race t-shirt. Water will be available at the halfway point of the 5k course, and course marshals will direct racers at major turns.

Packet Pick Up:

Packets will be available for pick up on Friday, September 11th at Pulse Health & Fitness Club from 8AM-8PM. Packets will also be available at Pulse Health & Fitness Club on Saturday (race day) beginning at 7 AM.
