JINGLE BELL 5K RESCHEDULED
The committee in charge of hosting the YDC Apple Capital Jingle Bell 5k has decided to reschedule the 2016 Jingle Bell 5k. The race could not be held due to icy conditions, but City officials and race partners have agreed to hold the race on March 11, 2017. Runners who chose to defer their entry to the 2017 event (and any other entrants who did not respond to the e-mail) have automatically been entered in the March 11 race.
Elite Race Management is proud to be the official timer of the 5th Annual YDC Apple Capital Jingle Bell 5k! The race benefits the Winchester Youth Development Center, a six acre campus comprised of agencies committed to providing area youth with the opportunity for recreational and educational programs focused on their total development. A portion of the proceeds will also benefit the Shenandoah University Track & Field program.

Please Note: Race-day registration WILL be available this year – runners are encouraged to pre-register online to guarantee receipt of a race shirt. The race will be held rain or shine, and registration fees are non-refundable.
Course:
The 5k course starts and ends at the Civil War Courthouse on Loudon Street in Old Town Winchester. The course is flat and fast through Downtown Winchester. The Frosty Fun Run will travel approximately .5 miles down the Loudon Street Mall.

Overall (Male & Female)
- 1st Place: $100 and engraved “Jingle Bell” trophy
- 2nd Place: $75 & medal
- 3rd Place: $50 & medal
- 4th Place: $25 & medal
- 5th Place: $10 & medal
Age Groups (Male & Female)
- Top 3 males and females in each age group: 17 and under, 18-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, and 61+
Frosty Fun Run
Frosty Fun Run Participants will be split into two divisions: 5-7 year olds and 8-12 year olds. The top three finishers in each division will receive medals. All finishers will receive a finisher ribbon recognizing their accomplishment regardless of time or place!
Amenities:
5k & Frosty Fun Run participants who register by December 1st are guaranteed to receive a race t-shirt (sizes and availability cannot be guaranteed after December 1st). 5K participants will receive tech shirts, while frosty fun run participants will receive cotton shirts (available in youth sizes). The 5k race is chip-timed, and there will be a water station on the course, and water & sports drink at the finish line. Course marshals will direct racers at all major turns. A post-race party at Piccadilly’s Public House is also included with each race entry.
Packet Pick Up:
Packets will be available for pick up on the following dates:
- Friday, March 10 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Wilkins Shoe Center on the Downtown Mall
- Saturday, March 11 from 6:30 AM – 8:15 AM at the start/finish line (Pickup for the Frosty Fun Run will end at 7:45 AM)
Due to time constraints on race day, we HIGHLY ENCOURAGE participants to pick up packets on Friday.
