5k Family Run/Walk

Location: Mariner Point Park in Joppa, MD
Time: 5k @ 8:00 AM, Walk begins immediately after 5k starts
On April 11, 2015, Trinity Lutheran Church will be hosting a Family 5K Run/Walk to benefit local, national and international mission trips for men, women and youth from Trinity to be held throughout 2015 and 2016. Currently scheduled mission trips include the youth mission trip to Green Bay, Wisconsin, the adult mission trip to the Gulf Coast of the US, and the women’s mission trip to the Caribbean/Central America. The proceeds from this Family 5K Run/Walk will equally benefit all three trips. Each trip lasts a week and approximately 75 participants from Trinity Lutheran Church ages 15 to 75 will be participating. The event will be held rain or shine, and entry fees are non-refundable.
Course Information
The 5k course will begin inside Mariner Point Park and will loop around the park before heading out into the surrounding community and finishing back in the park. Please note that roads outside of the park WILL NOT be closed to traffic, and participants must stay as close to the shoulder as possible. Strollers are welcome, but must begin at the back of the pack for the safety of other participants. Skateboards, roller skates, and other wheeled devices are not allowed on the course for the 5k.
Awards:
Top 3 overall 5k finishers (male and female) will receive awards, as well as the top male and female finishers in the following age groups:
6 and under, 7-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+
Amenities:
Short-sleeve T-shirts to all registrants who register by March 15th (sizes and availability not guaranteed to those registering after the 15th). Water will be available at the halfway point of the 5k course, and course marshals will direct racers at major turns.
Packet Pick Up:
Packets will be available for pick up on Friday, April 10th at Trinity Lutheran Church from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Packets will also be available for pickup on Saturday (race day) beginning at 7AM.
